Heifer is a fantastic organization working toward eliminating both hunger and poverty. Through the program, people can choose what type of animal or other gift they would like to give to someone in a third world country. This could be anything from a guinea pig to a water buffalo. The animals are bought inside the country and delivered to a family or a village. The people are then taight how to care for the animal and what it can be used for. One pair of animals can lead to an entire town of people being brought out of poverty.

Free rice is another organization that allows people to donate food without spending a penny. What you do is go to their website, www.freerice.com, and answer vocabulary questions. With each question you answer correctly, the program donates 10 grains of rice to hungry people. I thought this site was really cool, and a very easy way you can help people in just a few minutes!
